the slightly hyperbolic title I've given to my first project restoring 35 acres of land 26 miles west of Portland. The name pertains to what was probably the last year in history that Oregon enjoyed a landscape and biome unaltered by industrial agriculture, housing, pollution, invasive species or any other form of human development. My goal is to restore my little section of Oregon back to the ecological state it enjoyed 200 + years ago while still retaining small areas for low impact farming and food production.
I hope to offer a model to small landowners everywhere on how we can restore Oregon to a state of virgin beauty and unrivaled bio-diversity at home in our own back yard with minimal resources while still sustaining human populations!
Since starting this project 2 years ago I've planted hundreds of native plants and dug a nature pond.
If anything do it for the Windows Desktop wallpaper industry which relies almost entirely on mossy stones and dew covered maples to stay in business. |
